Hair practical week 6.

Hair practical week 6

Padding:

Equipment:
  • ·      Tongs
  • ·      Section comb
  • ·      Padding (tights stuffed with couch roll, cotton wool etc. Colour of tights depending on hair colour, for dark hair use black or brown tights, blonde use neutral.)

How to do:
  • ·      Create section you want to pad. Make a small French plait or normal plait behind section and fold up and grip. This is for something for the padding to be able to grip onto.
  • ·      Take section, starting from bottom and curl with tong from root using technique learnt in previous session.
  • ·      Pierce padding with grips and secure on the head. (Front and back)
  • ·      Pull hair around and pin in place. You might need to use geisha grips if pinning in front of padding so they cant be seen.

Evaluation- I felt that the hair practical went well. However I felt like the padding was placed a little bit too low. Next time I would place it a bit higher on the head. I would also like to experiment with other shapes. Bigger and smaller padding. As the bottom picture also shows my partners work on the left hand side. I think its interesting seeing the difference between the two looks from the different sizes of the padding used.
